CVS Adult Treatment Guidelines were finally released in June 2019.
The work of making these guidelines has been a nearly 4 year project led by Chairperson Thangam Venkatesan, M.D. and was a collaborate efford by a commitee of 12 M.D.s and Ph.Ds. The scientific partner was the American Neurogastroenterology and Motility Society, and the sole financial partner was CVSA USA/Canada.
This is a milestone in the treatment of Adults with CVS, and will be a great help for all the adults that suffer from CVS.
The guidelines consist of 4 review articles that are publicated at the journal Neurogastroenterology and Motility:
1. Guidelines on management of cyclic vomiting syndrome in adults by the American Neurogastroenterology and Motility Society and the Cyclic Vomiting Syndrome Association
2. Management of cyclic vomiting syndrome in adults: Evidence review
3. Role of chronic cannabis use: Cyclic vomiting syndrome vs cannabinoid hyperemesis syndrome
4. Cyclic vomiting syndrome: Pathophysiology, comorbidities, and future research directions
