A lot of people ask us why we have a forum, and not just not a facebook group. A facebook group seems easier to many people. And in a way, they are right. But we have still chosen to also have a forum for a reason, and this is why;
As CVS-patient or as family to CVS-patients we have all been in the situation where we have a million questions and no one to ask, and we search the internet for answers.
A facebook group is fine in the sense that it is easily accessible for those that have facebook, and if the group is large enough, you can get an answer rather rapidly. However, things disappear rather fast in a facebook group. It doesn’t take long before your question is far down, and no one sees it anymore. And it is also not easy to search through old questions to see if anyone has asked the same question before, to see if they have received good answers to the same question. And when you don’t quite remember what he or she answered, it it easier to find your question again in a forum than in facebook. The whole idea about having a forum is to essentially to build up a database with questions and answers so it will be easier for people to look up the information they need.
But a forum is not useful if it is empty.
So we encourage you to use it more. Ask your questions, and help answer the questions from others.
If we all pull together, we can build a database of Q&As that will help many CVS-patients coming after us.
We are looking forward to seeing you all in the forum.
